CNA Program In Oregon

Various nurse aide colleges and institutes have their own requirements to accept the students for program. However, the basic requisites are as follows:

• Clatsop Care CenterThe center offers state-approved program to promote the education of financially weak students. The qualified candidates can avail 4 full scholarships to attend nursing aide program program of the Clatsop Community College. The scholarship recipient must agree to work for the facility for at least six months and not less than twenty-four hours per week. • Laurence R. Foster MemorialThe fund is awarded to the student who are pursuing nursing and preparing for a public health career. This scholarship program is administered by the Oregon Student Assistance Commission. Applicants are required to deposit all the documents and an essay stating their experience, interest in health system by the deadline date (February of every year). • Marion A. Lindeman ScholarshipMarion A. Lindeman Scholarship program is administered by the Oregon Student Access Commission. In order to qualify, the candidate must-
  • Be a resident of Oregon.
  • Need financial assistance.
  • Be an employee of Willamette View Terrace or Willamette View Health Care Center.
  • Be a full-time student in a certificate/degree program in nursing.
  • Have completed at least 2,000 hours of working as a CAN.

• Franks Foundation ScholarshipThe program is sponsored by the by Oregon Student Assistance Commission. It offers financial assistance to the nurses living in certain counties (Lake County, Klamath, Jefferson, Harney, Grant, Deschutes, and Crook) of the state. Some specific eligibility requirements are given-below-
  • The applicant must be a high school senior.
  • He/she must maintain a GPA of at least 2.50.
  • Candidate should be majoring in nursing on undergraduate /graduate level.
  • Applicant must demonstrate financial need.

  The number of grants awarded may vary every year as it depends on the number of received applications. You are required to submit all the requested documents and a complete application by February of every year.

• ONA-Smith Education ScholarshipThe scholarship is provided by Oregon Nurses Foundation. The fund of $1000 is awarded annually to the qualified candidates who are pursuing undergraduate/ graduate nursing degree. The eligibility criteria for this scholarship program include-
  • The student must be residing in Oregon.
  • S/he must be enrolled in graduate/undergraduate nursing degree.
